How to create store specific planograms?


Creating a planogram is a complex process which requires many factors to be taken into account. These include the store layout and the shopping behaviour of customers in a given location.

The traditional procedure in software applications for creating planograms is to specify the dimensions of the shelves within the shelving system and then place the products directly into this scheme. The disadvantage of this approach is the need to create and manually manage a planogram for each variant of space.  

In addition, if we wanted to change the product portfolio or the number of positions of a particular product depending on its sales in a particular store to increase availability and reduce overstocks, we would have to manage a vast number of planograms in the traditional approach.

Store Specific Planograms in Quant

In Quant, users create planogram templates instead of specific planograms. From these templates, planograms are automatically generated in real time and they are optimized according to the space and sales of a specific store.

Creating and managing a template is comparable in time to creating a traditional planogram. However, the result is not one, but potentially hundreds of optimized planograms.

A single template can be used not only for different shelf sizes, but also in a situation where the shelving dimensions are unified. In fact, depending on the location and shopping behavior, it makes sense, for example, to optimize the number of facings or to include local products that Quant only includes in the planogram where they are selling well.
