Planograms for pallets

In Quant, you can plan how to display products on pallets. This manual will describe the easiest way to achieve this.

Fixture settings and planogram creation for pallets are shown in this manual in the Planogram Editor, where both equipment and planograms are created. However, you can plan equipment in the Store Editor in the same way and then compile a planogram in the Project Editor.

What steps need to be taken?

1. Setting automatic shelf heights

Automatic shelf height is a setting for equipment to which shelves are dynamically added according to the height of the products. In this case, the setting allows us to insert the products under each other without creating unnecessary gaps.

Automatic shelf heights are set in the Equipment Properties tab.

  • Select the Use Automatic Shelf Heights check box.
  • Adjust the Shelving Area Height. In this case, it will be 120 cm, because the pallet is 120 cm high.
  • Set the Number of Available Desks. In our case, we set a number high enough because we want the number of shelves to be created according to the number of products displayed in height.

2. Setting dimensions of a pallet

You can set dimensions of a pallet in the editable equipment preview. The space for displaying the products of the pallet is 80 x 120 cm.

3. Filling a planogram with products

Once you have the equipment set up, you can start filling the planogram with products. The shelves will be placed according to the highest product in the shelf.

4. Setting block properties

All properties are set in the Block tab which appears when you double-click on the block in the planogram which you want to edit.

  • When displaying, we will probably want to display the product packaging from the top.
  • At the same time, you can rotate the products 90° if needed.
  • You can also set how many packages in width and height you want to display.

5. Setting products to overlap the shelves

If you want some products to overlap the shelf, you must set the shelf to be Open Top.

Open Top

In order for the products to overlap the shelf, they must be set to a negative Top Margin of the Block in the Block Properties.

Be sure to increase the number of packages in height so the products can be placed in larger quantities in height.

You can find all these settings in the Block tab.
