Quant Technical Architecture

From a user perspective, Quant consists of two parts: Quant Desktop and Quant Web. All data is stored on a private cloud, through which individual users and components are connected. Data transfers from your customer system to Quant and vice versa can be proceeded automatically either via our FTPS server or via Rest API.

Quant Desktop

The Quant desktop application, must be installed on your computer. It can be installed on both Windows and Mac. The main content is created in the desktop application. It is typically used by key users at headquarters who plan the display of goods in stores. Here they create planograms and store floor plans, which they then share with stores via Quant Web.

Quant Web

This is a portal for stores which does not require installation on a computer. Stores only need internet connection and a web browser to log in. Each store has access to its floor plan and can view planograms that are customized for it. Stores can confirm planograms via the portal so that headquarters has an overview of which planograms have already been implemented by the store.

Quant Web

Quant Private Cloud

All content and data from Quant is stored on our private cloud, not locally on your computer. This is Quant's central database, where all data is stored and individual users and components are connected. Quant is therefore a platform where multiple users can collaborate and share content.

We run the Quant Private Cloud in Tier III certified data centers on our own servers optimized for Quant operation. We have sufficient capacity in geographically separate locations for robust backup and disaster recovery. We do not use third-party cloud services such as AWS or Azure.

FTP/CSV and Rest API

Data from your customer system (ERP) can be automatically transferred to Quant via automatic data transfers. This usually includes product data, sales, inventory, branch-specific product data (e.g., prices), etc. Of course, the reverse process is also possible, where you can transfer data from Quant to your customer system (e.g., a report with products placed in planograms).

We support two possible methods of automatic data transfers:

  • FTP/CSV: Data is sent from your system to our FTP server and then imported into Quant according to your settings (e.g., every day at 5:00 a.m.). Data is exported from Quant in the same way, with Quant exporting a CSV file that is stored on our FTP server, from where you can send it to your system. We use only encrypted protocols such as FTPS or sFTP for FTP/CSV.
  • Rest API: Data can be sent in real time via Rest API in JSON and SVG format depending on the type of request.
