Automatic Replacements - Category Settings in Stores

You can also set up automatic replacements at a more detailed level for a category-store combination, if for some reason you don't want to use replacements everywhere. This setting takes precedence over category settings.

  • Generate Replacements Automatically - if you want to use automatic replacements on a given category-store combination, you need to have this attribute checked. This attribute defaults to the parent value of the category.

Enable automatic replacements for Category/Store

  • Respect Product Ranges - if this box is checked and you have set product ranges in Quant, then only products of the same or lower range will be offered as replacements. This attribute defaults to the parent value of the category.

Respect Product Ranges

  • Product Range - product range is a group of similar products (the meaning of the word similar varies across industries, it can be similarity in product type, price, different features, etc.) at one level, you define it by a number, where 1 is the lowest range.

Product Range

  • Replace product when - this attribute allows you to set rules according to which products can be replaced. You can set both product and store-specific conditions. Products that fulfill these conditions can be checked using the Show matching products button.

Replace Product When

  • Replace in Planogram Condition - here you define the conditions that the replacement must fulfill so that an immediate replacement can be made. If the conditions are not met, but the chosen replacement is still the most suitable candidate, it will be planned as a future replacement, which you will then see in the Planned Replacements report. You only set this attribute if you want to use the Planned Replacements feature.

Replace in Planogram Condition

  • Only Products from Same Category - check this box if you want replacements to always be from the same category as the product being replaced. You can find the category level settings in Global Settings under Replacements.

    Only Products from Same Category

  • Prefer Replacements From Backstock - tick this box if you want products from the backstock to be preferred when selecting replacements.

Prefer Replacements from Backstock

  • Allow Reverse Replacements When - these conditions specify which products on planograms can be replaced with reverse replacements.

Allow Reverse Replacement When

  • Only Products with Defined Replacement - Check this option if you only want the product to be replaced if you have a specific replacement defined for it.

Only Products with Defined Replacement

  • Allow Duplicity for Defined Replacements tick this box if you want the defined replacements to be placed multiple times within a Store.

Allow Duplicity for Defined Replacements

  • Exact Match Replacement Attributes - here you can select attributes whose values must match the product being replaced. For example, if you want products of one Brand to be replaced only by products of the same Brand.

Exact Match Replacement Attributes

  • Allowed Products - with this attribute you can specify which products can be proposed as candidates, i.e. which products to choose from.

Allowed Products

  • Broad Match Attributes - here you can select attributes that will increase the score for products that have the same value as the original products when evaluating replacements. You choose the number of points, i.e. the importance. For example, if you want products from the same supplier to be selected as replacements under ideal conditions, select the Supplier attribute and specify the number of points for it.

Broad Match Attributes

  • Product Score Conditions - this setting allows you to specify the preferred attribute values that replacements should have, regardless of the values of the original products. For example, you can increase the score of all candidates that have a specific supplier, in our case Amazon Fruit, s.r.o.

Product Score Conditions

  • Fixed Candidates Validity and  Fixed Candidates -  if you have, for example, seasonal products on offer, you can choose a list of fixed candidates and select the period in which they should be valid.
  • Max Replacement Age in Days -  if you don't want to suggest products that are too old, you can set a maximum age here, this is determined by the Launch Date attribute in the product properties.
