Space Planning Prova di Concetto

In this manual, you will find a detailed description of Space Planning Onboarding. We will guide you through the process from data preparation and pilot deployment to the final phase of rolling out Quant to all stores.

1. Data Preparation and Quant Installation

Week 1 - Data Preparation

The first essential step for a successful Space Planning Onboarding and further deployment is data preparation.

Two approaches are possible to get started:

A. Preparing a limited amount of data for training purposes only

  • Product data including dimensions for at least 2 selected pilot categories
  • Technical plans of at least 2 stores in PDF or JPEG format
  • Shelving dimension information for at least 2 selected pilot categories
  • (Optional) Product photos
  • (Optional) Sales data
  • (Optional) Inventory data

Product Data Import

B.  Automatic Data Transfer Settings - 1 - 2 Weeks

If your IT department has the capacity to set up automatic data transfers between your ERP system / DWH and Quant at the beginning, it is possible to set up everything together with our specialists. This process can run in parallel with the trainings.

Data transfer can be done using Quant's REST API or by exchanging CSV files via FTPS server.

Week 1 - Quant Desktop Installation

Once your instance of Quant is up and running, we will send login credentials for your users to the emails you specify. The email will contain a link to set up a password and download the Quant Desktop application installer.

If you do not have permission to install applications, you will need assistance from your IT department to install Quant.

After installing and running Quant, you will be prompted to enter your username and password. Quant Desktop will then attempt to connect to our servers to synchronize with your database.

After the first successful login to the Quant Desktop application, everything is ready for the next part - initial training.

2. Pilot Deployment

Support is provided via MS Teams and online meetings. At the beginning of our collaboration, we always schedule one-hour meetings twice a week, during which our consultant will share their screen and go through the basic topics of Quant. After that, we proceed according to your needs. You can write to the MS Teams group at any time, where someone from support will take care of your request and advise you or schedule an ad hoc call.

Week 2 - Basic Training

The first meeting usually takes place during the first or second week, during which we agree on the procedure and determine the status of your data and what else you need to prepare. This is followed by the first training session, where you will learn about Quant and try importing data with our consultants.

  • Training I - Kick off

During the meeting, we will assess the state of your data, agree on what else needs to be prepared, and answer your questions.

  • Training II - Manual data import, getting started with Quant, creating a category hierarchy

During the second training session, we will import the necessary data (products, images, sales, etc.), guide you through the product library, and set up a category hierarchy.

Week 3 - Drawing Pilot Stores

During the third week, we will introduce you to Store Editor and taught how to create individual fixture types, save them to the library, and draw floor plans for your stores.

  • Training III - Store Editor I

The first training session in the Store Editor focuses mainly on uploading the technical plan of the store (PDF), inserting and setting up a fixture in the floor plan, and saving fixtures to the library.

  • Training IV - Store Editor II

During the second Store Editor training session, we will show you more advanced tools for drawing floor plans and how to assign categories in the floor plans, including useful reports that will allow you to optimize your store space (Space and Sales, Store Potential).

Week 4 - Creating and Publication of the First Planograms

During the fourth week, you should be able to draw the first realistic planograms and get to know Quant Web.

  • Training V - Planogram Editor I

During the training, the first planograms will be created and the tools for creating planograms will be demonstrated.

  • Training VI - Planogram Editor II + Quant Web

The training focuses more on optimizing planograms, linking planograms with fixtures in the floorplan and publishing planograms on Quant Web.

Week 5+6 - Drawing up Store Floor Plans and Planograms

During the fifth and sixth week, users should be able to set up selected pilot stores in Quant, particularly in terms of the fixtures in the selected pilot categories. In the case of stores up to 200 m2 it is realistic to completely set up all the fixtures.

During the sixth week, you should be able to draw planograms for selected pilot categories and stores and publish them to your stores.

Our consultants will continuously respond to your questions in MS Teams and, if necessary, you can arrange an ad hoc video call with them, during which they will guide you step by step to resolve your request via screen sharing.

Week 7 - Pilot stores Quant Store Portal

During the seventh week, you should introduce the pilot stores to Quant Store Portal and guide them through the process of implementing the planograms you have created.

Week 8 - Transitional phase

In the last week of onboarding, we will create a plan for the live transition of floor plans and planograms to Quant, so that you can begin working on category and product management across all stores according to your chosen schedule.

Our recommendation is to roll out the planograms to the stores by category, so that over a period of 6 to 12 months, the complete display in all stores is gradually managed with Quant planograms.
