Listing Introduction
Quant enables to set up a product listing system. The whole process requires careful setup of individual phases of listing. The detailed procedure will be further described in other manuals.
New products for listing
A supplier can use the web access to Quant to submit products for listing.
Menu Listing on the webTo be able to log in after the listing process, the user must have a certain level of access enabled on User in the Product Management section of the desktop. In the case of a user who has the Supplier role, it is advisable to enable him bulk import of products using the automatic task in the Listing Import Task row. If he will not use bulk import, enable the Create Product Listing Request line. This allows the supplier to fill in a prepared form on the web for individual products to be listed. Other settings from this section apply to category managers and their assistants.
Access rights for listingOn the web, the supplier can add products by using the Create Product Listing Request button. In the form, it is possible to simply fill in the required fields.
If you want the supplier to be able to import products in bulk from an excel file using the Import button, you need to set up the automatic Import Product Listing task in the desktop correctly. The key is to correctly define the source file in the Product Listing Attribute Mapping line.
Settings for the listing process in Quant
The listing process is complex and it involves the supplier and the product manager with assistants. The product listing process goes through various phases from the creation of a supplier request, through editing and completion, to the final listing. Users can see the different phases in the menu on the website as they are set to access them.
Listing phase
- New: the supplier creates a request for listing on the web using a form or bulk import and sends the products to headquarters for approval. Usually an assistant product manager at HQ manages the preliminary listing phase.
- For Approval: the assistant product manager sees the list of products that are to be approved. This phase mainly includes negotiating the purchase price. If the HQ does not agree with the data, it will return the product to the supplier and REQUIRE completion. It may also reject the product outright. If the price is agreed, HQ will send the product to the Approved stage.
- Approved: at this stage the supplier only sees their products but cannot modify them further. The product manager at HQ can still return the products to the Approval or Denied stage. If everything is right, he sends the products to the final approval stage.
- Sent for listing: this stage may or may not be included in the process. It is used for the inclusion of requests that are subject to third party review before final listing. They are placed in this state by an automated task and then sent on to the Listing or back For Approval state by another automated task.
- Listed: at this last stage the products are uploaded to the Quant database and are listed.
In the desktop application, the entire process of listing and approval must be set up correctly in the Products - Product Listing Settings sidebar.
For each user role, you must set up a custom form with customized permissions as part of the product approval process. For example, a user in the Supplier role must have access to the New phase, but will no longer be able to approve their own product.
For each stage of the product approval process, it is possible to define who will have access to it and what competencies they will have.
Notifications
All changes in the listing process are recorded in the history of the product which is visible directly on the website. Another essential parts are email notifications which can be set up in Quant under Notifications → Listing.
