What was your motivation to look for a category management and planogramming system?

We were looking for a more structured and scalable way to manage our in-store layouts and product ranging. As our product range continued to grow, it became increasingly difficult to maintain consistency across stores and ensure optimal use of shelf space. We needed a solution that could support data-driven decisions, improve efficiency, and provide clear visual standards for store execution.

Why did you choose Quant?

We chose Quant because it offered a flexible and user-friendly platform that met our needs for detailed planogramming. The ability to start with core functionality and add modules as our planogramming capability developed was a significant advantage for our business. The system also enabled us to standardise processes and provide clear setup instructions for our stores.

When did you start using Quant? 

We started using Quant in 2023, building our deck of planograms gradually as category reviews were completed.

What were your expectations at that time?

Our main expectation was to gain better visibility and control over how products are displayed in-store. We also wanted to improve consistency across our network, reduce manual work, and provide stores with clearer guidance to support execution.

Did you face any challenges during the deployment of Quant? How did you overcome them?

As with any new system, there were initial challenges related to data quality and internal alignment. By taking a collaborative approach, we were able to build a strong data foundation and give our stores confidence that planograms created in Quant would work effectively in practice. The Quant team was also very supportive in helping us address some of our internal system requirements.

You have chosen Quant Planogramming. What were the first benefits observed after implementing the system?

One of the first benefits was improved consistency in how categories were presented across stores. We also saw greater efficiency in creating and updating planograms, as well as better communication with stores through clear visual layouts. This helped reduce ambiguity and improved execution in-store.

How are you currently sharing planograms with stores or partners?

We primarily share planograms via PDF outputs, ensuring that store teams have clear and easy-to-follow visual guides. These are supported by internal communication channels and documentation to ensure alignment and understanding.

We have recently improved PDF design settings in Quant. What are your first impressions of being able to set a custom look for the entire PDF file?

The ability to customise PDF outputs is a valuable enhancement. It allows us to present planograms in a more professional and consistent format, aligned with our brand. It also improves readability for store teams, making it easier for them to interpret and execute the layouts correctly.

Apart from products, what other elements do you place on your planograms and how do you achieve this in Quant?

In addition to products, we include elements such as signage, fixtures, and spacing requirements. Quant allows us to incorporate these through its flexible layout tools, ensuring that the planogram reflects the full in-store environment rather than just product placement.

What are the main results of the project so far?

So far, we have achieved better consistency across stores, improved efficiency in planogram creation, and stronger alignment between head office and store execution. The system has also supported better decision-making by providing clearer visibility of product placement and space utilisation.

What are your future plans and targets regarding Quant usage?

With a wide variety of store sizes and customer requirements, we plan to expand our use of Quant by adding modules that support more efficient floor planning and incorporating more store-specific planograms where relevant. We also plan to further integrate planogramming into our broader category management processes and explore additional features that drive efficiency and insight.
