If a user forgets their password, a password reset notification will be sent to them. They will receive an email containing a link that they can use to reset their password.

The password reset notification can be set up in the Notifications / Notification Settings section.

The password reset notification has already been added to the notification list. To change its appearance, select it and click Open.

If you need to create different notifications for different user groups, add a Reset Password notification and, in the Users to Notify criterion, select the users who should receive it.

How do I set up a new notification?

1. Click the New button in the section Notifications / Notification Settings.
2. Select Reset Password.
3. The newly added notification will appear in the table. You can customise the notification's appearance in the editor by clicking the Open button.

Variables

• Username - this is taken from the Username property set on the user.
• First Name - user name: This is taken from the First Name property set on the user.
• Last Name - the user's surname. This is taken from the Last Name property set for the user.
• Reset Pasword - this is the most important part of the notification. Instead, users will see a link in the email that they can click on to set a new password.
• Link for Downloading Quant Installer – it redirects users to a page where they can download Quant.
• Link to Quant Web

The notification must always contain Reset Password Link.

It is advisable not to include the Link for Downloading Quant Installer variable for users who only have access to the web application. Only include this variable in the notification for users who have access to the desktop application.

This notification is unique because no notification times are set, and it is not necessary to enable it. The email containing the password reset link will be sent immediately after the user requests a password reset.

The user can then change their password within 30 minutes of receiving the email notification; otherwise, the link will expire.
