Looking back at QuantCON 2024
On 12–14 June 2024, the next edition of the QuantCON conference took place on the shores of Lake Mácha at the Port Hotel. We met a record number of Quant users from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, presented the most important news and improvements from the last year, answered many stimulating questions and gained a lot of inspiration.
The highlight of the conference was traditionally the presentations of our customers who shared their experiences with Quant.
Linda Michaličková, Merchandising Specialist, from LKQ, told us how Quant, in addition to creating planograms and managing store layouts, has simplified their corporate communication, not only between individual stores and headquarters, but also throughout the company. In fact, they have gradually given other departments access to Quant. A mistake on a shelf label is thus directly solved by the pricing department. The marketing department has created its own layers in Quant in which it manages its marketing materials. Individual store managers can continuously update store information in Quant, such as opening hours etc., so that the head office has access to up-to-date data.
Marek Tichý, Senior Data Analyst, from Dr.Max Czech Republic pharmacies told us what specific attributes they have to record about their pharmaceutical products. In addition to pharmaceutical products, the Dr.Max e-shop now offers other products, such as electronics. For this reason, the agenda of newly listed products has grown enormously. The resulting administrative burden was solved by Quant's new product listing module. The individual suppliers enter all the necessary product data directly into the Quant web portal.
David Winter, Project and Retail Manager, from Smarty explained how Quant helps them optimize stock levels and product displays in their stores. When a product is out of stock, the planogram automatically generates a replacement product to be displayed. This way, store staff don't have to deal with figuring out which products to display. This gives them more time to interact with customers and make sales.
Ilona Koloničná, Consultant in Retail, for Orsay, spoke about the specifics of fast fashion. She showed how Quant plans the renewal of individual collections, how they use our Free Style planogram mode to create planograms for classic and hanging racks and mannequins. Fashion store customers should be attracted to the clothes at first sight. In the Quant web app, Orsay headquarters can check the photos of the planogram implementation to see if, for example, the clothes are displayed as they should be, whether they are wrinkled, etc.
Petr Kavánek, CEO of Quant Retail s.r.o., together with Nikola Popílková, Head of Sales, introduced new functions. They listed the main advantages of the section template and visual rules. These allow users to generate thousands of planograms based on one common template and a defined rule. Each one is then tailored to the sales and other parameters of a specific store.
During the conference there was also space for informal networking, relaxation and sports activities. For example, on the terrace overlooking the lake, listening to songs performed by Petra Göbelová and Petr Kavánek or testing paddleboards under the direction of Sportisimo.
We are very happy that through this meeting we were able to understand the context of the problems that our customers face on a daily basis and that we gained valuable suggestions for future improvements. We believe that they also learned something new in workshops and that many of the improvements will make their daily work even more efficient.
