For the creation of planograms, it is essential that each product has its own image so that it can be designed in the planogram. You can manually import product images into Quant.

You can find the import in the tab: Imports → Product Images.

1. Preparation of data for import

Product images must be saved with a clearly identifiable name. The naming of images according to the Primary Id will serve well for this purpose. However, you can also use another attribute that clearly identifies the images (e.g. EAN or other unique image code which you have imported in Quant).

Save the images named in the directory in png or jpeg format.

Use a specific product feature as a name of the image. However, the filename extension does not count as a name. So there is no need to use a Primary Id in the form 100004.png in Quant, use only 100004.

3. Criteria specific for importing images

Set the import criteria in the property pan on the left.

• Name

Name the data import here. The name is only relevant if you are saving the import criteria to the library.

• Scan subfolders

Check this box if you want to import images from a directory in which the images are also stored in subfolders.

In this criterion, you can define the structure of the saved image names. You can select 1 option from the menu.

Filename structure

Sometimes image names can contain lowercase or uppercase letters. You can decide whether Quant should ignore these cases or not.

Here, select the attribute by which you named the images in the directory. In our case, it will be the Primary Id of the product.

If you want to pair the product by primary ID but the name also contains other text that is specified by a delimiter, you must specify it here.

• Prefix / suffix to ignore

Sometimes image names can contain a prefix or suffix that Quant should ignore. It is therefore necessary to mention it here.

Choose whether the images you import are front, top, or left images, or an e-shop image.

If you are importing different types of images such as front, top or e-shop images, you must map the names that are listed in the folder to the attributes listed in Quant.

In our case, we also have the different image type names of the imported products listed in the import file name. These names need to be mapped with the image types that are listed in Quant, i.e. as Front, Left, Top or E-shop image. So in the Image Type Mapping row, we create new keys that correspond to the names in our file and pair these keys with the Image Types in Quant as follows: left → Left image, front → Front image. Don't forget to choose the correct format for the imported file in the File name structure row. Here we are importing both different packages and different images, so the structure is of the form ID_box_front.

Check this box if you have more than one package of one product in the folder and you want to create these packages in Quant and pair the image directly to it. Quant automatically adds another species to the default package. If you only want to import the image to an already created package, do not select the check box.

Check this box if you are adding images to the default package. Quant automatically matches imported packages with the default package in Quant, regardless of their name in the imported file.

You can then edit the default package or add other types of package for the product in the Products tab. See the Packages manual for more information.

If the file name does not contain the name of the package but we import one identical package for all products, we can define it here.

• Package mapping

If the package name is included in the file name but is not described correctly, you can map the package names here. You can enter multiple names to map.

In our case, we have different names of packages (carton, pcs) in the name of the imported file but we want the product images to be imported for packaging as follows: carton → box, pcs → piece. You can define this pairing in the Package Mapping field.

The package mapping attribute appears only if you select the option in which the package is located in the file name structure.

4. Statistics

In the lower part, it is possible to see the Statistics related to import; for example, how many images will be updated in total. Click on the magnifying glass icon to see these products.

From the statistics, it is advisable to look at:

• Missing products: Quant did not match the name of the imported image with the attribute you selected in the "Filename Structure" criterion. The image will not be imported.
• Files Matching Multiple Products: If you select a property that is not unique to a product in the "Filename Structure" criterion, two products may have the same value for that property. Then the same image will be assigned to more products.

What if you use custom names for images that don't match the Primary Id?

If you have image files correctly named (each image is named so that it is possible to clearly identify to which product this image belongs) but this name is not the same as the Primary Id, it is possible to create a custom product property in Quant for this purpose. You will have the image file names filled in.

For each product, you must fill this property with a value that matches the name of the image file. You can fill in the names either directly in the Products tab, or a faster way is to import these values into Quant by importing product data.
