Planograms are essential tools for retailers who want to optimize their store layout and maximize sales. An effective planogram creation process involves gathering and analysing data, creating a planogram using software, training visual merchandisers, and reviewing planogram performance regularly.
Creating a planogram is a complex process which involves factors such as the layout of a particular store or the shopping behaviour of customers. In Quant, users create planogram templates from which hundreds of store specific planograms are automatically generated.

The future of retail lies in adaptability and precision. Retailers face the constant challenge of balancing ever shifting customer expectations with store-specific constraints. Hyper-competition in today’s market means retailers must be as efficient as possible to succeed.
Traditionally, planograms were either created for each store individually, requiring a lot of manpower to then keep up to date, or using a one-size-fits-all approach of 'average store' planograms, leading to a considerable error rate. Moreover, the average store planogram did not reflect the specifics of local demand. Both far from ideal.
This year's Retail in Detail: Digitech conference offered not only a great opportunity to meet colleagues from the industry, but also many news from the world of retail and digital technologies. The main topic of this year's event was artificial intelligence and the speakers presented primarily its use cases from their business.

The majority of retailers have their store layouts designed in some CAD tool at least in some basic form, typically in DWG format. The inquiry about the option to import the store layout into Quant directly from DWG is therefore quite common.
Until recently, the only option was to export the technical plan as a PDF, upload it to the background layer and then manually place the fixtures using custom libraries in Quant.
Thanks to the new functionality of fixture coordinates import, you can now import store layouts into Quant significantly faster and even automate it to a certain degree.

Data on historical sales and buying patterns alone is not enough to solely base an accurate forecast on. In order to achieve accurate forecasts, it is essential to include not only historical sales data, but also information about inventory and past and future events that may affect sales. Artificial intelligence will then be able to assess the impact of these factors on sales more accurately and offer more precise predictions.
In today’s fast-paced retail environment, managing multiple applications and systems efficiently is essential for success. Yet, with so many platforms and tools required to manage the operations properly, managing login credentials for each of them separately can become a hassle and a security risk for your business.
That is why Quant has recently integrated the option to activate Microsoft Single Sign-On within its Retail Planning edition.
Activating SSO in Quant allows you to facilitate user access, enhance security, and significantly improve productivity.
Our team meets regularly not only for formal events such as conferences and workshops, but also for more traditional informal events such as Quant Meetup, where we have the opportunity to meet new team members and strengthen our collaboration. Quant Retail, which has been on the market for over 20 years, has operated on a "work from home" model since its beginning. Opinions on this work format vary, but we are proof that full remote work can bring positive results and growth to a company.
Every few years, a new disruptive technology comes along that promises to revolutionize more than just retail. Artificial intelligence is certainly not a technology that will magically solve our problems on its own, but its use can bring significant benefits, whether in the form of automated decision making or machine learning.
But it won't be without work! In fact, it's more true than ever for AI applications that data is the foundation.
Let's take a look at some examples of retail AI deployments that have worked in the field.

The Italian company RCR Cristalleria Italiana, which manufactures and distributes crystal glass products, has chosen Quant Basic to create planograms with their designer products.
RCR emphasizes high quality from the actual production to the final sale and display of the products. Quant has managed to combine both the design of specific modules or gondolas, including banners and shelf strips, and the display of individual products with different types of packaging.
