Fixture Tags

Tags set on products and fixtures are used as a tool to restrict placing a specific product in specific fixtures in optimized planograms.

To restrict the placement of a certain product in selected fixture, two steps are required:

  1. Setting the product tag
  2. Setting the fixture tag

Either Required or Restricted tag can be set for any product.

Fixture tags can be used in Optimized planograms.
If a product has Fixed priority level, then the tags are ignored. Product will be placed into planogram even in case it shouldn’t be according to its tag.

Required Tag

In what situations Required Fixture Tags can be used?

A required tag is to be set for the product if the product is available for placement in only certain and no other fixture

Your store is equipped with cooling fixture for certain products (such as yoghurt, butter, etc.) and you want to ensure that such products will be placed nowhere else but in this cooling fixture.

Step 1: Set the products the Required Tag on the Products tab (“Fridge” in this particular case):

  1. In the Products section in the table below select the product for which you want the tag to be set.
  2. In the Properties panel in the Fixture Tags section click in the Required Fixture Tags line.
  3. If the tag has not been created yet, click on the New button in the newly appearing window and fill in the tag's name – “Fridge” in this particular case.
  4. Select the tag that you wish to assign to the product.
  5. Click on Ok.
  6. Click on the Save button.

Step 2: In the Store Editor in the Fixture Properties tab, set the same tag to only the fixture where the product may be placed – in this case, all cooling items of fixture are concerned.

  1. In the floor plan of the Store Editor, select the fixture to which you wish the tag to be set.
  2. In the Fixture Properties tab in the Basic section, click in the Tags line.
  3. In the newly appearing window, select the respective tag – “Fridge” in this particular case.
  4. Click on Ok.
  5. Remember to Save the store.

Now, if you want to place the product with the “Fridge” tag into different fixture than the fixture with the set “Fridge” tag, Quant will not allow you to do it.

Restricted Tag

In what situations Restricted Fixture Tags can be used?

The restricted tag is to be used in the situation where you want the product that has been set a certain restricted tag not to be placed into the fixture with such a tag

As an example, we can present a serviced store where a majority of goods are placed behind the counter and the customer has no access to them (a typical example of a store with this arrangement is a pharmacy). Nevertheless, there are a few racks positioned before the counter where the customer may look at products on display on his/her own. Some products should not be displayed freely for safety reasons (such as due to the product's high value or dangerous effects). Therefore, such products can be set the restricted tag and the same tag can be set for the fixture located in front of the counter.

The procedure is the same as in the case of the Required Tag setting.

Step 1: Set the products the Restricted Tag on the Products tab (“In front of cash desk” in this particular case):

  1. In the Products section in the table below select the product for which you want the tag to be set.
  2. In the Properties panel in the Fixture Tags section click in the Restricted Fixture Tags line.
  3. If the tag has not been created yet, click on the New button in the newly appearing window and fill in the tag's name – “In front of cash desk” in this particular case.
  4. Select the tag that you wish to assign to the product.
  5. Click on Ok.
  6. Click on the Save button.

Step 2: In the Store Editor in the Fixture Properties tab, set the same tag for the fixture in which any product with the “In front of cash desk” tag may not be placed under any circumstances.

  1. In the floor plan of the Store Editor, select the fixture to which you wish the tag to be set.
  2. In the Fixture Properties tab in the Basic section, click in the Tags line.
  3. In the newly appearing window, select the respective tag – “In front of cash desk” in this particular case.
  4. Click on Ok.
  5. Remember to Save the store.

Now, if you want to place the product with the “In front of cash desk” tag in this fixture, for which the “In front of cash desk” tag has been set, Quant will cross out the product from the planogram as its placing in this fixture is restricted.
