You can import a planogram into Quant from a CSV (or XLSX) file using the Import Planogram from Table option (ctrl/cmd + I). If you have a CSV file that contains a list of products including their exact position in the planogram, the following procedure allows you to create a planogram quickly and easily, based on the data from the table.

Each row of the imported CSV file represents one product. Each column represents one property (attribute). The following attributes are required:

• Primary product ID or EAN, so that Quant can correctly identify each product to be placed in the planogram.
• The shelf number on which the product will be placed. By default, Shelf number 1 in Quant is the first shelf from the top. The corresponding matching attribute in Quant will be the Shelf Index.
• The position of the product on the shelf, with position number 1 corresponding to the first product from the left.

If the table contains only the above mentioned attributes, each product will be placed in the planogram just once. If you want to use the import to determine the number of packages for each product, you can also include the number of packages in width, height and depth in the table. It is not necessary for the table to contain product names. The products are imported using Product Data Import. Therefore, if the table contains a column with product names, you will not import it.

Once you have the table ready, open the Planogram Editor (or Project Editor). Go to the template where you want to place the products from the table. In the main menu, select Template - Import Planogram from Table.

In the new window, click the Select File button and set the relevant properties:

• Name:

Fill in if you decide to save the import settings for future reuse (see the Recommendation below).

• Hanging Systems:

Check if you are creating a planogram for a hanging system.

• Bottom Top Shelves:

If you check this box, the first shelf will be the lowest shelf within the fixture.

• Imported Segment:

Only if your table contains products for multiple segments, enter the numeric value corresponding to the segment you want to import. In this case, the imported table must contain a column with values in the format s.p, where s is the segment number and p is the shelf number (e.g. 1.3 means that the product is on the third shelf of the first segment). You will then assign this column the attribute "Segment.Shelf". If your table contains this column, it does not need to contain a column indicating the shelf number.

• Character Set:

Select the character set whose characters are correctly displayed in the Source Preview pane - UTF-8 and windows-1250 are most commonly used.

• Header Line Count:

Fill in how many rows the header of the imported table has.

• Matching Attribute:

Select Primary Product ID or EAN.

You can save the criteria settings in the Library pane and use them the next time you import. Quant will remember both the criteria and the order of the columns selected in the Source Preview.

Once you have assigned all attributes, click on the Import button. When the import is complete, you can close the window.
