Hanging System
In Quant you can create planograms for a hanging system in which products are suspended on a hook wall or on slats.
The hanging system will always be set only for the first (the highest) shelf of the fixture. Products can be put on this shelf one on the top of the other until the entire height of the shelf is utilized.
Which information can you find in this manual?
- How to set the hanging system?
- How do you set your own depth for the hanging system?
- How do you set the exact spacing between the slats?
- How to create a planogram for a hanging system?
- What to do if you do not see the rows of the hanging system?
- How can several lower products be placed at the level of one high product?
- How to quickly place several pieces of the same product under each other?
- How to set the products not to be placed close to each other?
Setting the Hanging System
The setting of the hanging system can be done in: Store Editor → Shelf Properties. Here the Use Hanging System checkbox needs to be selected.
- Use Hanging System
Select this checkbox to set the hanging system for the fixture.
- Hanging System Depth
This setting is often used if you need to draw a planogram with the hanging system and the fixture comprises several other shelves. However, products in the hanging system should not reach the same depth as products positioned on a standard shelf. Hanging system depth may, for example, correspond to the depth of the used hooks.
With certain fixture the vertical distances between products are predetermined, which means that in the case of placing products one above the other, such products may only be placed within a certain distance. For this purpose we recommend setting the slats for which you set the vertical distance in advance. This option is available in the following properties: Slat Height and Slat Distance.
- Slat Height
The Slat Height property determines the height of individual slats.
- Slat Distance
In this property you set the mutual vertical distance of individual slats in centimetres.
Creating a planogram for the hanging system
When creating a planogram for the hanging system, products need to be positioned into the dotted section of the template.
Fixture with the hanging system can be comprised of three sections. To have the product placed into the correct section of the fixture, it needs to be positioned in the correct section of the template:
- The hanging system: the dotted section of the template
- The shelf in the hanging system: the first non-dotted row in the template
- The other shelves: non-dotted rows in the template except for the first non-dotted row
What to do if you do not see the rows of the hanging system?
The planogram template is created automatically and can be subsequently modified according to the specific equipment. If you need to add rows for hanging products, follow the same procedure as for adding rows or columns for conventional shelves.
Select the Add Rows tool on the left. Then use the ↑ arrow or the selection in the Tool tab to select rows for a Hanging system. Click in the space in the template to create a new row of the desired type.
How to position several lower products at the level of one high product?
In practice a situation may occur when it is necessary to place for example two low products (see in the picture) at the level of one high product.
Procedure:
- Expand the high products over several rows in the template using a blue square.
- Insert the low products into the template one above the other in the rows over which the high products are expanded.
How to quickly place several pieces of the same product under each other?
If you want to display several identical products below each other, you can expand the product over the required number of rows in the template and check the Split by rows box on the Component tab.
How to set products not to be too close to each other?
If you need to extend products horizontally on the shelf with a greater distance between them, you can use:
1) Product margins – Right / Left: These margins are set in the Products section → the Packages tab. Margin of the product should be set if it is necessary to set a margin for the product in every planogram in which the product will be placed.
2) Block margins – Right / Left: If you set the block margin, the setting will be applied only to planograms belonging to the same group in the project hierarchy.
3) Alignment of blocks: Quant offers an option allowing the setting of the left or right margin to be avoided. You can set block alignment in the template to have the blocks on the shelf evenly distributed along its entire width.
For creating vertical distances between products on the shelf, the following can be used:
- Product margins – top / bottom
- Block margins – top / bottom
- Setting slats – for a detailed description, see the paragraph above about slat settings.
