Planogram Template in the Project Editor

Firstly, you place the products you want to fill the planogram with into the planogram template. Secondly, you insert products into the template from the bottom product table. A row in the template always corresponds to one shelf in the planogram, so the first row indicates the first shelf, etc. To the left of the template is the toolbar where you will find all the functions you may find useful when creating a planogram. In some cases, you can use Place Holder as a label within the planogram. It is possible to set its dimensions, location and graphic design.

  1. For a better overview, we recommend to create free columns at the beginning of the template where you insert the Place Holders.
  2. In the Component tab, you can set the Location Type.  If the Free space should not block products, select Start of shelf, ev. Equipment Start.
  3. Set the Width and Height in the Package Dimensions section. If the label is in portrait, the text will automatically rotate.
  4. In the Product Labels section, you can type the label text, edit the label color, or insert an image into the label.
  5. You can move the label by activating the Shift tool and then use the arrows to place it in the desired location.

How to align products on a planogram?

To make the planogram look presentable at first glance, it is often necessary to align the products in the planogram in some way. You have a choice of five possible alignments:

  • Align to start - aligns the blocks to the left. You can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl/cmd + ←.
  • Center - aligns the blocks in the middle. You can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl/cmd + ↓.
  • Align to end - aligns the blocks to the end. You can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl/cmd + →.
  • Justify - spreads the blocks evenly, i.e. the blocks will be placed within the entire shelf with equal spacing (this is the most commonly used alignment). You can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl/cmd + ↑.
  • Center by template lines - divides the shelf based on the number of columns that are in the planogram template, and determines the space for each block accordingly (a very complex alignment, but unusable in a situation where the individual blocks have a different number of packs in width).
Types of alignments

Alignment can be done simply by activating the respective alignment tool (in our case the Justify tool) and clicking on the row you want to align (in our case the last shelf). Justify is the most commonly used tool - it will cause the blocks to be placed within the entire shelf with equal spacing.

If you want to align all the rows in the template in the same way, just activate the appropriate alignment tool and press the space bar.
